MotorsportManagerPC is now using the new reddit. All the informations that you see in old reddit (here) may be outdated. Rules. 1) YouTube video posting is allowed until it obviously becomes channel advertising. 2) Pirated material means ban. 3) Use the mobile flai for mobile game posts.
4) English Only. How To FlairFlairing posts is important as it allows users to sort posts by flairs, while also allowing us to keep the subreddit clean. The fastest way to flair, working on mobile as well, is to use square or round brackets with the flair inside the title of your post FLAIR or (FLAIR).
The flair must be one of the current active flairs. You can see our active flairs above in the flair filter. The second method only works on PC: once your post is submitted you can easily flair it from under the post and chose from the which one you want to use, then you have to click SAVE. If you don't flair your post before 5 minutes elapses, it will be automatically removed.

FLAIR FILTER. Beginners Guide - Motorsport Manager PCI wrote this guide to help people that are new to the game. This guide is written on the assumption that you will be managing in the lower ranks, I.e Tier 3, as I believe this is where most people start.First thing to decide is whether to manage an existing team or create a new one. Take your time here as the difference is huge. I would strongly recommend starting with an existing team if you are new to the game as you often start with an average to good pair of drivers with some average staff.Existing team.Your first target should be to finish 10th in the constructors championship. This takes any pressure off you in the first season and allows you to take time to develop parts and infrastructure.
Coming last every race is nothing to be ashamed of if you are on of the bottom teams. There will be no pressure from the chairman and the funds are still enough to lay the foundations for the future. Now check your staff. If your lead designer has average all round stats, keep hold of them. If not, look for a new one with balanced attributes. If one of your race mechanics has average to high stats in reliability and the other in performance, keep them also. If not, replace one or both as required and be sure to place them on their strongest attribute in the improve parts section.
Remember, the less you spend here the more you have for parts on your car later though so there must be an element of compromise.Get your mechanics all improving reliability at the earliest opportunity. Your first 1 or 2 races will almost solely rely on you getting to the end of the race relatively unscathed and reliability is a big factor for all teams in the beginning. Now your drivers. Chances are they are not too shabby and even if they are, it's likely not worth the cost to replace them for your first season. You won't have enough money to build anything yet so sort your sponsors. It's well worth taking your time to wait for 3 in each a lot before deciding which to choose. Always go with those that give you the highest return:race ratio. Now you have some money, build your first part for your car. I pick the part that has the lowest stat and go from there. Your first parts won't be great but don't worry, it's all about the process. As soon as it's ready, add it to your reliability work.
If you have the money, start work on a new part but don't worry too much if you can't afford it right now. Remember, this game is a marathon, not a sprint, no matter which game mode you play so everything you do is building for the future.Create your own team. This is a long term project. Do not expect podiums or regular top ten finishes within your first 3-5 season. Focus on developing new parts and improving your HQ where possible. Factory, Design Centre, Scouting, forecasting, part development buildings, in that order as much as finances permit (always factory first though imo).Keep your existing drivers, they will do for now, but replace all staff that are not up to scratch using the info in the existing team section. The rest of your approach is similar to that above so have a good read.Free practice. The jury is still out on whether you should sim or take control of your practice sessions.
I have tried both and in all honesty, in your first couple of seasons, I have found there to be little difference. After this though, you do want to manually take the session and strive for the highest% you can on both cars as they begin to become more competitive.
It can be the difference in coming last or inside the top 16, which makes a huge difference when you have sponsor requirements. If you do take control of the session, it is relatively simple to get a minimum of 95% for each car. Set the markers in the middle of the green zone and send your drivers out. Once they leave the pit, immediately recall them. Adjust and repeat until the session ends. If one of your drivers hits great or excellent in all 3 areas with time to spare, fuel them up and let them get some timed laps under their belt.
While it doesn't really effect anything, it increases knowledge and gives you an idea of their race pace.Race.Start both drivers on red markers for tyres and fuel for the entire first lap. Then immediately lower fuel to yellow. Once your tyre temps are half way between middle and top temp, reduce to orange or yellow. It is then up to you to micromanage this for the remainder of the race.Safety car.I have found on most occasions, that safety cars are either deployed early or late in a race. As a result, only pit if you are due to pit within the next 2-3 laps anyway. This does depend on your race length and for longer races, I would recommend always pitting under a safety car after the first 4-5 laps, but for shorter ones, stick to your own plan.Pit stops and strategy.A well planned pit stop can make or break your race. In your first race or two, make repairs to your cars in your scheduled stops, even if they are not quite in the red yet.
Yes it takes forever to repair, but almost every other car will be doing the same and you will only end up being forced to stop again when it fails or worse, you have to retire. Your goal is to finish the race. You will be surprised at the result you can get just because you finished, often top 10.After the first couple of races, reliability should cease to be an issue so plan your stops more carefully. Before your race, check how much fuel you have on a full tank and check your tyres as to how long they can last.
Ideally, you want to pit 1 lap before your fuel is due to run out and when your tyres hit 25% condition. With this in mind, choose the fuel amount and tyre compound that allows you to push for the first lap and ease off a little after. Running less fuel and a harder compound is better than running a higher engine mode and softer tyres, so keep this in mind. You should repeat this process for your pit stops also and don't be too afraid of repairing your car if you need to. Remember, finishing the race is what matters in your first couple of seasons.Hope this helps.
Open to questions and constructive feedback on all of the above. I just got back into playing this after a few months off - picking up where I left my Predator challenge file after 2 races in our first WMC season.I always do practice since I've found that it usually sticks one of my drivers on race trim and one on qualy.I want both doing qualy to (try to) get the level 3 trait for it and the softest tyre compound. I can then use my engineer trait of the 50% faster tyre changes with the 15% tyre performance so getting a race trim bonus is meaningless for me.Downside of not playing in a while - I forgot that the game takes your best 2 parts for the next car, not just the best single part. Will need to work some magic to get a 2nd decent suspension and brake before the offseason.2 races left, it could happen. Yeah, the top of the red area means you will lose any benefit you gained from having warm tyres and they will wear very quick while giving very poor performance.
Try and keep the line between halfway overall and halfway in the red at the most for best performance. If you do your first lap on Red tyre markers with fresh tyres, your temp will usually be well into the red area after the first lap so drop to yellow or possibly orange if you still have some more temp to play with. If it gets too high, drop to green until it lowers enough to switch back to yellow. Then flick between orange and yellow to keep the optimum temperature. You can still use the red markers throughout the race but only do so if your driver is looking to overtake or defend an important position. Keep in mind you will have to compensate for this by dropping to green markers soon after as your tyre temperature will shoot up.Hope that makes sense.
'Running less fuel and a harder compound is better than running a higher engine mode and softer tyres, so keep this in mind.' How does that make sense, i mean, does the game really take into consideration the weight of the fuel?Context: I just finished 1 season in the ERS, (2nd in the driver championship), and the tactic i like to use is to always fuel to full, if in the last stint only refuel for the remaining laps (usually i start on soft, change to medium, medium and last stint on soft for 1 driver and for the other i use a more conservative approach with second driver (as least stops that i can get). Yes, the game does take the weight of the fuel into consideration. This can be identified on the setup screen when choosing how much fuel to put in. It shows the the time lost per lap of fuel you add.Higher engine modes wear your parts much quicker and soft tyres don't last long. Planning your pit stops and using less fuel is a more efficient way of gaining time. If you can plan your stops so you use less fuel and softer tyres then that is ideal but quite difficult to implement without using multiple stops, unless you are running short races. If you have achieved what you claim to have achieved then that's awesome and fair play to you.
That is an incredible achievement in your first season. This is a guide for beginners and as such, my advice is geared towards the best results for the lower teams with poor facilities and average drivers as I believe that is where most people just starting out will begin. Thanks for the answer. You seem to know a lot about this game, so i got a few questions regarding some issues i found in the game.1 - If i run in super overtake mode, does this increase the chances of a lock-up or is it up to the drivers ability (or maybe tire temperature)?2 - Sometimes in races, on the driver ahead of me an exclamation sign appears under his name (what is the meaning? He will pe penalised at the end of the race? Does he have reliability issues?3 - I find it difficult to maintain the pace of the race if i don't run overtake mode, in race i usually hold my mouse on the drivers list, and check the opponnents driving modes, and also the gaps between the drivers. The AI seem to always use the overtaking mode, if i use a normal mode throughout the race the drivers lose a lot of positions.

Super-Overtake shouldn't affect the chance of lock-ups. This is more to do with the ability of the driver (focus I believe). The Super Overtake engine mode will severely effect part deterioration though as well as guzzling fuel at an alarming rate. As such, it should be used in short bursts rather than for laps at a time. The exclamation mark next to the drivers car signifies a reliability issue and the chance of a failure is imminent. This will also be apparent in the drivers box on the corner of the screen also on the 'condition' tab.
Clicking on the 'condition' tab will show you which part/s is/are the problem. I don't believe that there is an indicator to show a driver will be penalised at the end of a race, however someone may be able to confirm or correct me on this as in all honesty I'm not too sure.Finding it difficult to maintain race pace is completely normal, especially if you have started out with your own team or a lower team. This is more down to your car than your race strategy. As you improve your HQ and your car over the seasons, your competitiveness will improve also.
This is because although the other teams are also improving, without mods, you are able to out develop them at a reasonable pace.Hope this is in-depth enough for you. If you feel I have missed anything, please let me know.
Thank you for this guide! I bought the game last weekend, started with a new team. There is much to do here! I didn't think of pushing for reliability to prevent mechanical breaks.
Will do it now! Also, I didn't know about the tyre temperature losing grip. Since I have the worst cars, I was pushing my drivers always in the red on both tyres and engine, in order to keep up with the other cars. I realize I have much to learn! Will definitely continue to check this reddit for more insight. Thank you all!.
